One week ago, I performed my 2nd annual Olympic Workout at the UCB Theatre in New York City. Here is an excerpt of what happened.
A few notes:
Josh Sharp & Aaron Jackson were my “Workout Squad” and their job was to do whatever I did
This portion of the workout was very dance-heavy. Other sections of the workout featured jumping jacks, running in place, punching the air, leg lifts and at one point, four push-ups
This clip features a Beyoncé song and a Gabrielle song. Other songs featured during the workout were by Passion Pit, Björk, Owl City, a Dream Academy instrumental of a song by The Smiths, The Cranberries, Moby and an instrumental piece by Peter Gabriel from the soundtrack to The Last Temptation Of Christ
During the second half of this video I was playing video of American diver Greg Louganis hitting his head during the 1988 Summer Olympics. I played this clip repeatedly and in slow motion and I think that’s why you can hear Shannon O’Neill laughing louder than anyone else
During the SuperBowl, the Coca-Cola Company aired a commercial to promote their brand as every other mega corporation who has a few million dollars to blow on a 30 to 60 seconds of television airtime. It was a nice commercial titled “It’s Beautiful” in which American people did American things…
I’m sure none of these people are at all aware that America does not have an official national language. You may think it’s English but it’s not. So before you become so “patriotic” with your slander of this commericial just remember that one day Spanish or even Chinese may be the more dominate language and you won’t have any argument then.
"Emma is certainly capable of…refreshingly different approaches to logical thought…but air-headed, ditzy or foolish she is not: she is one of the most clear-minded and intelligent people I have met. The fact that her second Oscar, two years after the first, was awarded for a screenplay, tells you all you need to know about her ability to concentrate, think and work. If it is tempting to be cross with people for having so many gifts lavished on them at birth, she has an abundance of kindness, openness and sweetness of nature that makes envy or resentment difficult." - Stephen Fry
